Rep. Steve Berch Newsletter - CORRECTION: Interview with KTVB-TV

NOTE TO READERS: The original version of this email had a link to the KTVB-TV interview that stopped working shortly after it was sent. I'm resending the newsletter with the correct link. I apologize for the inconvenience.

I was recently interviewed on KTVB-TV’s Viewpoint program to discuss issues expected to arise during the 2025 session of the Idaho Legislature. The interview included other Republican and Democratic Party leaders in the Senate and House: Senate Minority Leader Melissa Wintrow, Senate Majority Leader Lori Den Hartog, and House Majority Leader Jason Monks.

CLICK HERE to watch a recording of the 30-minute Viewpoint interview, which was broadcast on Dec. 29, 2024. The Republican legislators are interviewed first, followed by Sen. Wintrow and me (about halfway into the show). Topics discussed include:

  • Impact of the November election on the legislature
  • Threats to repeal Medicaid Expansion
  • Consequences of Idaho's current anti-abortion laws
  • Shifting tax dollars from public schools to for-profit private and religious schools
  • Governor Little's upcoming State of the State address

The 2025 session starts on Monday, January 6th. My upcoming newsletters will cover important bills as they are introduced in committees and come up for a vote on the House and Senate floor.
